The Evolution of CAMM Metals
CAMM Metals is a second-generation, family-owned job shop and manufacturer located in East Windsor, CT.
-
In 1996, CAMM Metals began in the household garage of founder Al Soucie. The company was named for the members of his family: Craig, Al, Marge, and Matt. With a new layer of insulation inside his garage, a kerosene heater on the floor and a new Iron Worker, Al worked winter nights and weekends to get his dream off the ground.
By 1997, Al moved the company into a small, 3,000-square-foot building and grew the company by continuously reinvesting profits from the company into new equipment and technology. Today, CAMM Metals operates similarly, with profits used to upgrade our services, improve efficiency and improve quality.
-
Al retired in 2015 and his sons Matt and Craig took over the business. Craig left the company in 2019 and moved to Phoenix, but since Al’s retirement, Matt has continued to build on the successful foundation set by his father of acquiring innovative technologies, equipment, and processes to support modern OEMs.
From strategic investments in cloud applications to improve office efficiency to cutting-edge CNC equipment to improve quality and shorten lead times, CAMM Metals consistently and constantly seeks ways to streamline operations and better serve our customers.
